Plaza Hotel

The building opened in 1882 under the name The Belle of the Southwest as a Victorian structure during the New Mexico Territory period. It was built in an era when the Santa Fe Trail served as a major trade route through the region.

The Ilfeld Ballroom serves as a gathering place where the community hosts events and celebrations throughout the year. Visitors can sense how this space remains woven into the social life of the town.

The site offers meals at the Prairie Hill Café from Tuesday to Sunday, with drinks and entertainment at Byron T's Saloon during the same days. Its central location makes it easy to walk to other parts of town from here.

The building continues to serve as a filming location, with production crews drawn to its Victorian architecture and original details. This ongoing use has helped keep the structure maintained and its historical character intact.
