Michael O'Shaugnessey constructed this residence between 1886 and 1887 before selling it to Virginia McCormick, daughter of mechanical reaper inventor Cyrus McCormick.
Virginia McCormick organized numerous community events at the property, including Christmas celebrations and Easter egg hunts for local children.
The property stands at 2005 Kildare Street, with current owners implementing protective barriers to preserve the historical structure.
The mansion has served multiple functions throughout its existence, including roles as a hotel, health spa, antique shop, and boarding house.
