During the Battle of Bentonville in March 1865, the Harper House functioned as a Union field hospital while sheltering six Harper children.
The interior displays ornate Queen Anne styling with parquet floors, stained glass windows, carved coffered ceilings, and brass door fixtures.
The property stands adjacent to Bentonville Battlefield visitor center at 310 N. Center St, offering guided tours throughout the year.
The attic space served as an entertainment area during Prohibition and contains preserved memorabilia from that period.
