John W. Pope, Jr. Convocation Center, Sports arena in Buies Creek, North Carolina, United States
The John W. Pope Jr. Convocation Center is a modern sports facility with approximately 3,095 chair-back seats housed within about 109,000 square feet (10,100 square meters) of space. The building features multiple competition areas, training spaces, and a large Presidential suite for special events.
The facility was designed by Little Diversified Architectural Consulting and opened in October 2008, replacing the previous Carter Gymnasium. It has served as the university's modern athletic venue since its opening.
This is the home venue for Campbell University's basketball, volleyball, and wrestling teams, and the community gathers here to support student athletes. The facility has become central to university life and school spirit on campus.
The venue can accommodate up to 4,000 people for events such as graduations and ceremonies, making it flexible for various gatherings. Visitors should arrive early during major events, as parking around the campus can become limited.
The basketball court's hardwood floor features a distinctive Camel logo set within the outline of North Carolina state. This design makes the court instantly recognizable and serves as a visual signature for the venue.
