Raven Rock State Park

The 4,810-acre park stretches along the Cape Fear River, featuring a 150-foot crystalline rock formation and multiple water rapids.

Native Siouan and Tuscarora tribes used these lands for hunting before European settlers established mills and quarries in the mid-18th century.

The Northington Ferry crossing point connected Raleigh to Fayetteville, making Raven Rock an essential landmark for river navigation.

The park maintains 26 miles of hiking paths, 13.5 miles of biking trails, and 8 miles of horse riding routes with no entrance fees.

Located at the fall line, the park contains rock formations created over 400 million years ago through heat and pressure processes.
