Kerrville-Schreiner Park, Protected recreational area in Kerrville, Texas.
Kerrville-Schreiner Park is a large protected area along the Guadalupe River spanning approximately 517 acres. The space is divided into two distinct sections by a state highway, each offering different landscapes and visitor experiences.
The park was developed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps, a federal program that built infrastructure across many American parks. The original roads and structures from that era still define the layout and character of the grounds today.
The park maintains a certified Monarch butterfly waystation garden measuring 104 feet square, attracting numerous butterfly species throughout the year.
The park offers multiple accommodation options including spots for RVs, tent camping areas, and small cabins to suit different visitor needs. These facilities are spread throughout the grounds and can accommodate various lengths of stay.
Visitors can explore over 20 kilometers of trails that wind through different habitats and are suitable for both hiking and biking. This network offers routes of varying difficulty and provides direct access to river activities like kayaking and fishing.
