Waggoner Ranch, Large cattle ranch in Wichita County, Texas.

The Waggoner Ranch spans 535,000 acres across six Texas counties, featuring extensive grasslands for cattle grazing and horse breeding operations.

Daniel Waggoner established the ranch in 1852 with 230 longhorn cattle, and his son William Thomas later expanded it to become the largest ranch under one fence.

The ranch maintains a tradition of raising American Quarter Horses, with many animals tracing their lineage to the influential Poco Bueno bloodline.

The property employs 120 staff members who manage 14,000 cattle, 500 horses, and 26,000 acres of cropland while overseeing oil production operations.

During early water drilling attempts in the 1900s, workers discovered oil deposits that transformed the ranch into a combined agricultural and petroleum enterprise.
