NAN Ranch, Farm and ranch complex in Faywood, United States.
NAN Ranch is a collection of historic farm buildings set along a flowing creek in the Mimbres River valley of New Mexico. The structures display Spanish Colonial Revival style with clay tile roofs, arranged across the working headquarters property that once served agricultural operations.
John Brockman founded this property in the 1860s as a working agricultural operation in the Mimbres valley. The main buildings underwent major renovation in the 1920s, when designers added new infrastructure and refined the architectural style while keeping the original character.
The ranch sits on land that once held Mimbreño settlements, and their pottery heritage remains part of the place's story. Walking the grounds, you sense the layers of human activity that shaped this valley over centuries.
The property covers about 80 acres with buildings spread across the headquarters area, surrounded by canyons and natural waterways. Plan to explore on foot, wearing sturdy shoes, as the terrain includes both cultivated grounds and wilder sections that require careful walking.
In the 1920s, the property received a complete overhaul by accomplished architects who added concrete irrigation channels and even a swimming pool to the compound. These modern upgrades were unusual for a remote ranch at that time, showing the wealth and vision of those who owned it.
