Southern Vermont Arts Center

The Southern Vermont Arts Center is an arts museum in Manchester situated on 55 acres of landscaped grounds with gardens and pathways. The property includes multiple galleries, a performance venue, and a sculpture park housing over 1,000 artworks within former residential rooms.

The center began in 1917 as a private estate called Yester House, designed by a New York architectural firm. The former mansion was later transformed into an arts venue to showcase regional and national artworks.

The building itself is constructed in Colonial Revival style with 28 rooms shaped by its original function as a private residence. These historic rooms were cleverly converted into galleries, blurring the line between private and public art viewing.
