SunTrust Plaza, Office building in downtown Atlanta, United States
SunTrust Plaza is a 26-story office building on Peachtree Center Avenue featuring postmodern architecture with a square tower and distinctive crown. The facade combines geometric shapes with detailed elements at its base.
The building was completed in 1983 and originally called One Peachtree Center. It was renamed SunTrust Plaza in the mid-1990s when SunTrust Banks established their headquarters there.
The two-story lobby displays sculptures and furniture designed by architect John Portman, showcasing how art integrates into corporate workspaces. These pieces create a welcoming environment for people passing through the building.
The building is easily accessible with 12 elevators serving multiple floors. A covered skybridge connects the area to Peachtree Center MARTA station about two blocks away.
Since 1997, peregrine falcons have built and maintained a nest in planters on a balcony above the 50th floor. These birds of prey have claimed the urban environment as their home.
