The neighborhood developed between 1956 and 1971 and earned recognition on the National Register of Historic Places in June 2010. This designation marks its importance to post-war residential development in the region.

The neighborhood shows mid-20th century residential design with buildings created by architect Avriel Shull using post and beam construction methods. The homes reflect how residents chose to live in modern houses during the post-war period and what mattered to them in their daily surroundings.
