The district encompasses 104 buildings along Auchentoroly Terrace, featuring Renaissance Revival rowhouses and mansion houses constructed between 1876 and 1925.
The development began with the Orem and West mansion houses in 1876, while the subsequent rowhouse construction started in the 1890s and finished by mid-1920s.
German Jewish families established their presence in the neighborhood during the late 19th century, leading to the creation of Park School in 1912.
The district stretches from 2700 to 3400 blocks of Auchentoroly Terrace, bounded by Liberty Heights Avenue, Reisterstown Road, and Fulton Avenue.
The buildings display narrow brown Roman brick cladding and architectural elements including mansard roofs, Dutch pediments, and various styles of bay windows.
