Tall Pines State Preserve

Tall Pines State Preserve is a nature reserve spanning about 111 acres across Mantua and Deptford, with ponds, creeks, and several miles of walking trails. The land contains diverse habitats that support local plant and animal life.

The land was originally forested before being converted to a golf course in the 1950s. Local organizations worked to protect it, and it received preservation status in 2015.

The preserve is sustained by an active community that regularly organizes walks and educational events. These activities connect visitors with the local environment and foster understanding of conservation efforts.

The preserve is accessible via Glassboro Road in Sewell, New Jersey, and offers about four miles of trails for walking and outdoor activities. Visitors should wear proper footwear and be prepared for varying trail conditions.

A newly developed Pollinator Garden showcases plants that attract pollinators and supports local insect populations. An Audio Trail system guides visitors through the landscape while sharing ecological stories.
