Bodo Otto House, Historic house in Mickleton, US

The Bodo Otto House is an 18th-century stone building in East Greenwich Township with Georgian architectural features located at the intersection of County Route 551 and Quaker Road. The structure displays classic proportions and window arrangements that reflect its age and original craftsmanship.

The house was built in 1766 and initially served landowner William Scull before Bodo Otto Jr. acquired it in 1772. During the Revolutionary War in 1778, the building sustained damage that was later repaired during reconstruction efforts.

The house takes its name from Dr. Bodo Otto Jr., who lived here in the late 1700s and provided medical care to the surrounding community. The stone structure with its distinctive features remains a focal point in this rural landscape.

The house is visible from public roads and can be easily viewed from the surrounding street. Visitors should note that this is a private historic property, so access may be limited or restricted.

The house displays visible differences between its original sections from the time of construction and the stonework added after the war. These repair layers tell the story of how the building endured the upheaval of the regional conflict.
