Laura Richards House, Federal architecture residence in Gardiner, United States

The Laura Richards House stands as a two-and-a-half-story wood-frame structure with a hip roof, interior chimneys, and a denticulated cornice facade.

Built in 1810 by Ebenezer Byram on land acquired from Robert Hallowell Gardiner, this residence received National Register of Historic Places recognition in 1979.

The house represents Federal period architecture through its symmetrical design, classic proportions, and traditional five-bay width with central entrance and sidelight windows.

The property spans 0.5 acres and includes a rear ell with a monitor roof connecting to a carriage barn at coordinates 44.227222, -69.7725.

After sustaining severe fire damage on December 24, 2022, the structure required demolition and was removed from the National Register in 2024.
