Chapin Park Historic District, Historic residential district in South Bend, Indiana, US.

Chapin Park Historic District lies immediately north of downtown South Bend and holds 260 contributing buildings and three contributing sites. Most of it was built between about 1890 and 1910 on land from Horatio Chapin's estate, in Second Empire, Queen Anne and Gothic Revival styles. Among its buildings are the Horatio Chapin House (1857, 1891), Hodson's Castle (1888), the 1898 South Bend Civic Theater, a 1916 Christian Science Church and a 1928 YMCA.

Chapin Park grew on land that had belonged to Horatio Chapin, an early South Bend settler whose estate lay just north of downtown. Most of the district's 260 contributing buildings went up between about 1890 and 1910, when the estate grounds were divided into lots. The Horatio Chapin House itself dates from 1857 and was altered in 1891. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The neighborhood reflects how affluent families of the late 1800s chose to live, building substantial homes surrounded by generous grounds and landscaping. Walking through today, you can see how the residents expressed their status and taste through their architectural choices.
