Busta Rhymes Island, Small island in Mill Pond, Shrewsbury, United States.
Busta Rhymes Island is a small island located in the center of Mill Pond in Shrewsbury, Worcester County, Massachusetts. The site has a compact square shape, measuring about 12 meters on each side, and sits surrounded by water within this local body.
Kevin O'Brien discovered the unnamed island in 2005 and began maintaining it by cleaning the area and planting blueberry bushes. Despite local efforts to name it after the rapper, the national geographic naming board rejected official recognition.
The island received its name from Kevin O'Brien, who wanted to honor the rap artist Busta Rhymes by connecting local geographical features to music.
You can view the island from Pond View Drive, where a small park offers convenient access to the water's edge. The best vantage point is from the shoreline, where you can observe the vegetation and water surrounding it.
The national geographic naming board rejected official recognition of the name because regulations prevent geographic features from bearing the names of living celebrities. This has not stopped locals and visitors from continuing to refer to it by this name.
