Shrewsbury extends across 21.6 square miles of land, featuring numerous streams that wind through rolling hills and neighborhoods at 204 meters elevation.
The town emerged from land grants in 1664 when Nipmuc Indians led by Peter Jethro transferred territory around Lake Quinsigamond to colonial settlers.
