John B. Gough House, Historic house in Boylston, Massachusetts, United States.

The John B. Gough House features a two-story Italianate design with three bays on each side, a flat roof, and a central square belvedere.

Built in 1848, this residence belonged to temperance lecturer John B. Gough, who delivered over 9,000 speeches about alcohol abstinence across multiple countries.

The mansion served as a meeting place for social reformers, clergymen, artists, and politicians during the nineteenth-century temperance movement in Massachusetts.

Located at 215 Main Street in Boylston, the property contains twenty rooms and maintains its original architectural elements including wide eaves and front porch.

The residence operated as a working farm with multiple outbuildings and later functioned as the campus of Shepherd Knapp School in the twentieth century.
