Ishtar Gate, Ancient city gate in Babylon.
The Ishtar Gate was the eighth gate to the inner city of Babylon, constructed in about 575 BC.
It was part of the Nebuchadnezzar II's ambitious building plan.
The gate is named after the Mesopotamian goddess of love and war, Ishtar.
Today, a reconstruction of the gate can be seen in the Pergamon Museum in Berlin.
