The mosque was constructed during the first century of Islamic history by the Bani Zafar tribe, who were among the first Arab settlers in Kufa.

The mosque contains multiple prayer niches and stations named after prophets and religious figures, including Ibrahim, Idris, and Al-Khidr.

The mosque features a modern minaret built in 1967, replacing an earlier structure, and includes separate spaces for communal prayers and gatherings.

The building incorporates seven distinct prayer stations, with the central area designated for congregational prayers and religious ceremonies.
