Sunway Lagoon

Sunway Lagoon is a theme park in Petaling Jaya near Kuala Lumpur, built on a former mining site and now covering six themed zones. The complex combines water attractions with rides, a wildlife area, sports facilities, and entertainment zones spread across a large site.

The park opened in 1993 on the grounds of a disused tin mine and gradually expanded with new themed areas. The transformation of this site marked the shift from industrial land to one of Southeast Asia's largest leisure complexes.

The water park displays traditional Malay wood carvings on several buildings, and visitors often see school groups spending field trip days here. On weekends, many families from across the region arrive, and the restaurants serve local dishes like nasi lemak alongside international options.

Combination tickets grant access to several zones, and express passes reduce waiting times at popular attractions. The park is well signposted, and lockers are available at entrance areas so visitors can store belongings securely.

A pedestrian suspension bridge stretches 428 meters (1404 feet) at around 18 meters (60 feet) above the water section and is the longest of its kind in Malaysia. The bridge connects two park sections and offers an unusual perspective on the complex when crossing.
