Lost City of Gold, Steel roller coaster at Sunway Lagoon, Malaysia
Lost City of Gold is a steel roller coaster at Sunway Lagoon featuring trains with six cars that accommodate 24 riders across two rows per car. The track winds through multiple tunnels and over hills while maintaining a traditional out-and-back layout without inversions.
The ride first opened at Bayern Express in Dolancourt, France in 1988 and operated there until 1993. It was relocated to Sunway Lagoon in Malaysia in 1994, where it has remained in operation.
The brown tracks and support structures of Lost City of Gold integrate with the surrounding theme elements that represent exploration and discovery themes.
Riders must be at least 140 centimeters tall to board this coaster. The ride uses a chain lift system and is designed to accommodate visitors of various ages who meet the height requirement.
The coaster was designed by manufacturer Soquet and features multiple tunnels that create moments of darkness during the ride. This design choice makes the experience less predictable as riders alternate between bright daylight and narrow dark passages.
