Kerinchi Pylon

Kerinchi Pylon, Dead-end tower in Kerinchi, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Kerinchi Pylon is a lattice-steel transmission tower standing 103 meters tall near Menara Telekom in Kuala Lumpur. It carries high-voltage power lines and forms part of the electrical infrastructure network serving the city.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad constructed this transmission tower in 1999 as part of Malaysia's power distribution expansion. Its completion represented a major milestone in the country's electricity infrastructure development.

The structure has become a landmark in the urban landscape of Kuala Lumpur, forming part of the city's visual identity. Residents and visitors recognize it as a reference point that defines the skyline of this part of the city.

The tower is visible from multiple neighborhoods across the city and serves as a helpful landmark for navigation. The best views can be found from the University of Malaya area and surrounding residential districts.

This structure holds the record as the world's tallest strainer pylon within its specific engineering category. This technical distinction makes it a notable example of modern engineering achievement.
