Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, Public aviary in Lake Gardens, Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur Bird Park occupies roughly twenty-one acres within the Lake Gardens and houses over three thousand birds belonging to around two hundred species. Visitors walk through four distinct areas with open aviaries and landscaped habitats where many of the birds move freely around them.
The park opened in nineteen ninety-one as the largest covered bird facility in Asia at that time. Since then it has grown steadily with new sections and updated approaches to replicating natural conditions.
Thousands of visitors learn about Malaysian and international bird species through daily educational shows, feeding demonstrations, and interactive exhibits.
The facility opens daily from nine in the morning until six in the evening and sits close to central Kuala Lumpur. Admission rates differ for local residents and international guests.
Many birds nest directly in the trees within the open zones rather than in cages or enclosures. This freedom allows natural reproduction and visitors often spot fledglings growing up alongside their parents.
