Belum Temenggor Forest Reserve

The Belum Temenggor Forest Reserve is a large protected woodland in Perak with multiple ecosystem types ranging from wetland areas to highland tropical forests. The reserve supports numerous native plant and animal species that thrive across these different forest habitats.

The forest gained formal protection in 2003 when Malaysia designated it as a protected area due to its environmental importance. This designation marked the start of systematic conservation efforts for one of the region's most significant woodlands.
