Estadio Tierra de Campeones, Municipal sports stadium in Iquique, Chile
Estadio Tierra de Campeones is a football stadium in Iquique, in northern Chile, with seating for around 13,000 spectators. It has three football pitches, a baseball diamond, LED lighting, and a full security setup across the grounds.
The stadium opened in 1993 and was fully rebuilt in 2017 to meet international football standards. The reconstruction changed the site completely, turning it into a modern facility for the whole northern region of Chile.
The name "Tierra de Campeones" means "Land of Champions" and reflects the pride Iquique takes in its sporting traditions. On match days, the stands fill with local fans who follow Deportes Iquique, the city's main football club.
The stadium is on Salvador Allende Avenue, in a central part of Iquique, and is easy to reach by car or public transport. On match days, it is worth arriving early as the roads around the ground can get busy before kickoff.
The baseball diamond inside the complex is the only one in Iquique, which makes it a rarity in this part of Chile. Baseball has little presence in northern Chile, so finding a proper field here tends to surprise most visitors.
