Palacio Astoreca, Iquique, Cultural center in Iquique, Chile.
The Palacio Astoreca stands as a two-story Georgian-style mansion built with Oregon pine, featuring 27 rooms across 1,100 square meters in central Iquique.
Juan Higinio Astoreca commissioned the construction of this mansion in 1900, during the nitrate mining boom, but passed away before its completion in 1901.
The palace now functions as a museum and cultural center operated by Universidad Arturo Prat, displaying local and national art exhibitions throughout its rooms.
Located at 350 Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins, the cultural center welcomes visitors Monday through Friday from 10:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 11:00 to 13:00.
The entrance hall features an American oak floor illuminated by Art Nouveau stained glass, while other rooms maintain their original French Neo-Renaissance furniture.
