Santuario del Señor de Luren

The Sanctuary of Lord of Luren features three brick-arched portals and a Latin cross layout within its neoclassical architectural design.

The original chapel construction began on May 13, 1556, preceding the establishment of Villa de Valverde, which later became the city of Ica.

The October festival and Holy Week celebrations include large processions where residents carry the 1.80-meter statue of Christ through the streets.

Located 900 meters south of Plaza de Armas, the sanctuary opens Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 15:00 and weekends from 7:00 to 12:00.

The central Christ statue incorporates real human hair and stands between figures of the Virgin and Mary Magdalene at the base of the wooden structure.
