Cahuachi, Archaeological site in Peru
Cahuachi is a major ceremonial center of the Nazca culture, located in the Ica Region of Peru.
It was active for over 800 years before it was abandoned, it eventually became a necropolis.
The site is rich in ancient pottery and textiles which are linked to the Nazca civilization.
Due its delicate nature, visitors need permission from authorities for visitation.
Unlike other archaeological sites, Cahuachi was not a city but a place with no permanent population.
