Al Yaqoub Tower

The Al Yaqoub Tower is a mixed-use hotel skyscraper with 79 floors situated on Sheikh Zayed Road, recognizable by its distinctive tower-like facade inspired by London's Elizabeth Tower. Inside, the building houses approximately 224 hotel rooms served by six elevators that move people throughout the structure.

Construction began in 2006 and was completed in 2013, though the official opening ceremony did not occur until 2017 after full operations had commenced. This gap between completion and formal inauguration reflected common timing in Dubai's large development projects.

The tower's design draws inspiration from London's Elizabeth Tower, blending European architectural references with the modern context of Dubai's business district. Visitors notice how this European echo fits into the skyline of a rapidly developing Middle Eastern city.

The building is best viewed during daylight hours when its distinctive architecture stands out clearly against the sky. Located directly on Sheikh Zayed Road, it is straightforward to reach and sits conveniently near other notable landmarks and attractions.

Although the tower's design mirrors London's Elizabeth Tower, it deliberately does not include a functioning clock on its facade. This choice gives the building its own identity while keeping the architectural reference.
