Armenia–Turkey border, international border
The Armenia-Turkey border is an international land boundary that divides the two countries. It spans across rugged terrain in the western part of Armenia and the eastern part of Turkey.
The border was established following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and the creation of modern nation-states in the early 20th century. It has remained closed to regular traffic since 1993 due to ongoing regional tensions.
This border is not open to civilian crossing and remains inaccessible to regular travelers. Those wishing to travel between the countries should explore official border crossing points elsewhere in the region.
