St. Amenaprkitch

The Holy Saviour Church features a domed basilica design reaching 36 meters in height and stands as a central structure in Gyumri's main square.

Built between 1858 and 1872 by architect Tadeos Andikyan, the church emerged after local Armenian Apostolic Church members sought to establish their presence among other denominations.

The church structure incorporates elements from the Cathedral of Ani's architecture while maintaining its larger scale and distinctive Armenian religious characteristics.

The building underwent extensive renovations starting in 2002 to repair damage from the 1988 earthquake and restore its original architectural elements.

During the Soviet period, the church transformed into a museum and concert venue for classical music performances before returning to its religious function.
