Gallery of Aslamazyan sisters, Art museum and biographical gallery in Kumayri district, Gyumri, Armenia.
The Gallery of Aslamazyan sisters occupies a restored merchant house from the 1880s near Gyumri's central square, displaying around 600 original artworks across two exhibition floors. The collection includes paintings, ceramics, and graphic works arranged throughout several rooms.
The building originally served as a residence and workshop for wealthy merchants in the 1800s before later being transformed into an art gallery. After the 1988 earthquake, it temporarily housed people in need before returning to its role as an art institution.
The sisters created works shaped by their travels to India, Japan, and Europe, blending styles and techniques from different cultures. Visitors can observe today how these international influences appear in paintings, ceramics, and prints throughout the rooms.
The museum is within walking distance from Gyumri's center, and guided tours are offered in Armenian, English, and Russian. A visit typically takes about one hour, and the exhibition rooms are located in a restored historic house with several flights of stairs.
This is Armenia's only museum dedicated exclusively to female artists, and visitors can participate in ceramic workshops held in an outdoor garden. This hands-on activity sets it apart from typical museum visits.
