Hovhannes Shiraz home-museum

Hovhannes Shiraz home-museum is housed in a red tuff stone building and presents personal belongings, manuscripts, and works of the Armenian poet across six thematic exhibition rooms. The collection spans different phases of his literary output and demonstrates his influence on Armenian letters.

The red tuff stone building was constructed in 1886 and belonged to merchant Qeshishyan before becoming Shiraz's residence in 1983. The poet spent his final years there before the house was later converted into a museum to preserve his legacy.

The museum displays how Hovhannes Shiraz's poetry shaped Armenian literary thought and connected with readers across generations. His works remain central to how Armenians understand their own language and cultural expressions today.
