The Museum of Avetik Isahakyan is a biographical museum housed in a traditional Armenian building that displays original manuscripts, photographs, and personal belongings of the poet. The rooms are organized to show different periods of his life and work through these objects and documents.

The house was built in 1828 by the poet's grandfather, Nikoghayos Isahakyan, and became a memorial museum on 29 October 1975, the centenary of Avetik Isahakyan's birth. The 1988 earthquake damaged it severely; the building was demolished in the early 1990s and rebuilt in the same architectural style, with work resuming in spring 2002 under the Shirak regional administration. The interiors were restored as relatives described them in 1957.

The exhibits show how Isahakyan shaped Armenian poetry and influenced writers who came after him through his distinctive voice and themes. Walking through the rooms, you notice how his personal life and his literary work were deeply connected.

The museum is located in the Kumayri district of Gyumri and is easy to find within the historic neighborhood. Plan to spend about an hour here to look through the displays without rushing through the rooms.

The desk on display is where Isahakyan wrote his first work, and the collection also holds his personal library, a wooden child's cradle, an embroidered tablecloth and cushion, his favourite coffee pot, a large European-style mirror and a 2 m wooden portrait sculpture of the writer.
