Museum of Russian Art

The Museum of Russian Art displays paintings, sculptures, and porcelain works from Russian artists in a building situated near the Grand Cascade. The collection spans different periods and artistic directions, showcasing creations across several centuries of Russian art history.

Professor Aram Abrahamyan, a Moscow-based urologist with roots in Tiflis, gathered this collection over decades of collecting. The museum opened in 1980 and has preserved an important record of Russian artistic creation since its founding.

The collection demonstrates how Russian artistic traditions influenced the region's cultural life. You can observe various schools of thought represented in the works, from representational styles to more experimental directions across the galleries.

The museum is located on Isahakyan Street and operates with varying hours throughout the week. Plan your visit for Friday or Saturday if you prefer longer opening times for a more relaxed experience.

The collection features artists such as Vrubel and Roerich, whose names are less widely known but held considerable importance in Russian art history. Visitors discover creators here whose work shaped the artistic thinking of their era, even if they remain lesser-known outside specialist circles.
