Playa de Media Luna is a beach in the Ica region of southern Peru, about 300 km south of Lima, on the Pacific coast at coordinates 14.55°S, 75.95°W. The area has a mild desert climate: average temperatures run from about 18 °C in July to 26 °C in January, and total annual rainfall is only around 24 mm.

The bay has been occupied since pre-Columbian times when coastal peoples gathered seafood and conducted ceremonies here. Its natural shape and resources made it a consistent meeting place for generations of communities.
