Villa María del Triunfo

Villa María del Triunfo is an administrative district in southern Lima that spreads across desert terrain at an elevation of 158 meters. The area contains residential neighborhoods alongside small-scale manufacturing and workshop industries.

The district was established on December 28, 1961, when migrants from different parts of Peru settled in the southern outskirts of Lima. These communities grew rapidly and shaped the area's development.

The central plaza serves as a gathering place where residents come together for festivals and community events throughout the year. It reflects the everyday life and connections between neighborhoods in the district.

Early mornings and late afternoons offer the most comfortable temperatures for exploring the area. The relatively flat terrain makes it accessible to walk through neighborhoods or use local transportation.

Urban farming projects help residents grow food on limited land and create income in a desert environment. These initiatives show how communities adapt and find solutions where basic resources are scarce.
