Berazategui, Metropolitan district in Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina
Berazategui is an administrative district in Buenos Aires Province stretching along the Río de la Plata coast. The area connects residential zones with commercial districts and industrial facilities that reach toward the waterfront.
Early settlers farmed the land here until a railway line was built in the mid-1800s. The arrival of glass factories in the early 1900s transformed the land into an industrial center.
The name comes from one of the first landowners who sold property for railway projects in the late 1800s. Today, streets combine residential blocks with small workshops processing glass or producing industrial components.
Trains run regularly toward Buenos Aires, connecting the center to the capital in about an hour. Bus stops line the main streets and offer connections within the district and to neighboring municipalities.
A glass factory from 1906 still employs hundreds of workers and produces bottles and household items. The company shaped the local economy so strongly that the district is officially designated as the national capital of glass.
