The House of the Ezeiza, Colonial mansion in San Telmo, Argentina

The Casa de los Ezeiza features three connected courtyards with Italianate galleries on two levels, adorned with Corinthian capitals and Carrara marble decorations.

Built in 1876 for the Ezeiza family, descendants of Basque immigrants, the residence was abandoned during the 1871 Yellow Fever epidemic when the family relocated north.

The structure transformed from a family residence to a school, then to the National Institute for the Deaf, and later housed 32 families as a tenement building.

The building now functions as a shopping gallery called Galeria de la Defensa, containing retail spaces across its restored historic courtyards and galleries.

The ground floor displays gray and white marble slabs throughout, while the upper level features stone-like cladding and symmetrical balconied windows.
