The Plaza de Toros Real de San Carlos is a Neo-Mudéjar structure with a central arena surrounded by tiered stands for spectators. The complex contains multiple spaces designed to host different types of events and gatherings.
Built in 1909, the building operated as a bullring until the government banned bullfighting in 1912, ending that era of use. The site then adapted to serve other purposes over the decades that followed.
