Complejo Cultural Provincial "Guido Miranda", Arts centre with Art Deco architecture in Resistencia, Argentina
The Guido Miranda Cultural Complex is an Art Deco building located at Colon Street 164 that features geometric shapes and stylized ornamental details throughout. It contains a theater hall with 560 seats and a smaller screening room with 167 seats designed for different types of performances.
The building was designed in 1934 by Italian architect Pedro Fiaccadori and initially operated as a cinema and theater. It closed in 1994 and reopened in 1997 as a cultural center to serve the region as a venue for artistic activities.
The complex hosts two performance spaces where theater productions, dance shows, and musical concerts take place regularly. These events shape the cultural life of the city and reveal how the venue supports local and regional artists.
The center is best visited from Wednesday through Sunday when it opens in the early evening and remains open into the night. Visitors should check the schedule beforehand since different types of events occur at varying times throughout the week.
Between the main stage and the smaller screening room is a specialized acoustic barrier built with particular materials that prevents sound from traveling between the spaces. This allows both rooms to be used at the same time without disturbing each other.
