Parque provincial Pampa del Indio, Natural reserve in Chaco Province, Argentina
Parque Provincial Pampa del Indio is a natural reserve in Chaco Province with wetlands, grasslands, and forests that form interconnected habitats. The terrain supports diverse native plants and animals in their natural settings throughout the park.
The reserve was established in 1978 under Provincial Law 2311/78 as an untouched protected area. The protected area has been adjusted over time since its original designation.
The Qom people, traditionally called Toba, have lived in this territory as hunter-gatherers for generations and their communities remain active around the region today. Their connection to the land shapes how people experience and interact with the natural environment here.
The park has camping areas with drinking water, electricity, and restrooms along with grilling spots and walking trails to explore. Informational signs help visitors understand the different habitats and wildlife throughout the grounds.
Each July 26th, a major pilgrimage on horseback brings thousands of participants who travel from Quitilipi to reach this location. This annual gathering connects spiritual tradition with the natural landscape and draws people from across the region.
