Pinhão

Pinhão is a municipality in the Centro-Sul Paranáense region of southern Brazil, located at an elevation of approximately 1,113 meters. The town connects to neighboring communities through regional road networks.

This settlement grew from its early days into an organized municipality through Brazil's administrative restructuring. The territorial reorganization in 2008 created its current municipal boundaries.

The people here maintain farm-based traditions and rely on regional trade that shapes daily economic life. Agriculture and local markets remain central to how the community works.

The area sits at a higher elevation and is best reached via regional roads. Visitors should plan to explore using private transport, as the setting is rural and spread out.

The name comes from pine nuts naturally produced by Araucaria trees that grow throughout the highland terrain. These native trees define much of the landscape here.
