Curitibanos

Curitibanos is a municipality in Santa Catarina located at about 987 meters elevation and covering around 953 square kilometers of land. This settlement in southern Brazil sits among hilly terrain and serves as a small administrative center for the region.

Curitibanos grew from settlements that began in 1679, but only received official recognition on June 11, 1869. This date marked the start of formal administrative structure for the area.
