São Carlos Municipal Theatre, officially Teatro Municipal Dr. Alderico Vieira Perdigão, stands at Rua Sete de Setembro 1735 in the city centre, next to the Teatro de Arena José Saffiotti Filho. Its cornerstone was laid in 1956 by mayor Alderico Vieira Perdigão, and the building was constructed between 1960 and 1966.
