Cosmópolis

Cosmópolis is a municipality in the Metropolitan Region of Campinas, located in São Paulo state. The community features residential neighborhoods alongside agricultural production areas that form the basis of local land use.

The settlement began in 1885 as Colônia de Santo André, established by European immigrants seeking agricultural land. It achieved municipal status through state legislation in 1944, marking its formal recognition as an independent community.
