Casa Branca is a municipality in São Paulo state, located in southeastern Brazil across rolling terrain. The center developed around the Desterro train station, which remains a hub for moving cargo like sugar, coffee, and cachaça as well as passengers traveling through the region.
A white inn gave the place its name when 17th-century explorers stopped here while traveling between São Paulo and Goiás. The settlement gradually grew into a trading community built around this stopping point on an important route.
