Três Corações

Três Corações sits at about 900 meters elevation in southern Minas Gerais, surrounded by farming areas and agricultural lands. The municipality functions as a regional center with straightforward facilities serving the surrounding countryside.

The settlement started in 1760 when Portuguese explorer Tomé Martins da Costa built a farm and chapel by the Rio Verde river. From this rural beginning, it developed into an agricultural hub shaped by coffee farming through the centuries.

The town grew around coffee farming, and this heritage shapes how people here live and work today. Walking through the region, you notice the coffee plantations that remain central to local life and pride.

The town sits strategically between São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Belo Horizonte, making it a practical stopover point when traveling between major cities. The dry season offers the most comfortable conditions for exploring the region and its surroundings.

This is the birthplace of football legend Pelé, who started his career here and brought international attention to the region. Many visitors come specifically to see places connected to his early life and development as a player.
